The buxus harlanii is an excellent species for bonsai. Its deeply fissured bark, flaring base and compact growth habit immediately give it an appearance of great age. It also flowers profusely in the colder months.
This 26cm high tree has been placed in a patterned, unglazed pot that compliments the tree nicely. I have also positioned a rock that i think displays the scale of the tree well.
This would be a great addition to any collection, or a great first tree.
